Two more days with Patrick.

Maryia wasn't feeling good and Patrick and I were both tired so we decided to do a short climb after sleeping in and having a huge breakfast. We chose Absolutely Free, 5.9, since it was on my list of things to climb in the Valley. The approach is ugly, the descent is ugly, the climb is good. Making the whole experience and fun day of "once is enough" good times with a good friend. Krystina got a couple cool photos though which makes it all the more worth it... So, I guess it's a good climb.

 I LOVE this photo!

The last day they were here Patrick and I went to Parkline Slab in El Portal on the edge of the park. For those of you that don't know this is usually an oven in early May and impossible to climb comfortably in June. Since it was so crazy cool we decided to go climb it in late June. We climbed Stone Quest 5.8R. One of Ron's routes. It's a little bold and was put up ground up with 3 less bolts than there are now. Im glad for the three bolts. That man is BOLD!
Patrick about 15ft out on the first 5.8 pitch.

 Following the third pitch
The route ends on top of this awesome 500ft pillar leaning against the wall.

Coming down.
